I can't believe it's been almost a week since I blogged. I am not really full of exciting news, in fact I am pretty much a downer right now so it's usually best if people avoid me.
On Friday was Maddie's "Pajama Day" at school and also it was her 6-1/2 birthday and she got to celebrate with cupcakes.
Dylan and I brought the cupcakes in at 3:15. When we got to the school he ran into his 4th grade teacher. All of his teachers have always adored Dylan, but his 4th grade teacher really loved him. In fact her exact words were "if I had a son I would want him to be just like Dylan." Anyway he was chatting with her and he asked if she needed any help in the afternoons. He gets out of school at 2:30 and the elementary school goes until 3:45. His school is right next door so he could walk over and help her out. She was absolutely THRILLED. I was floored that he even asked her. He's starting today. He will be doing today and maybe Friday's. He's going to talk with some of his other old teachers about it. He'd like to do it every day. I'm really proud of him for taking that initiative.
This weekend we watched Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs on Friday. On Saturday the kids went over to Mam and Papa's and spent the night. Originally Joel and I had planned to go see a movie that night but we got invited out to go to dinner at Famous Dave's with Tara and Brad. We love that place. I wasn't too set on a movie anyway. See above cranky mood. Sitting in a theater for 2 hours didn't sound like a grand old time to me.
This week is crazy busy. I have 2 conference calls with work this week - one today and one tomorrow. I'm not excited about either of them. Today's is supposed to be "sometime" between 9:30 and 12:00. Way to take up my whole morning. I'm still waiting and it's 10:07. Tomorrow's is at 9:30 and should only last an hour. Wednesday I have my eye appointment FINALLY. Maybe this time I'll actually get in to see a doctor.
Maddie has a cold again. I was just thanking the Lord the other day for a healthy household and now this....I hope she feels good enough for ballet tonight. I don't want her to miss any rehearsals. They have a big production coming up in May of Alice in Wonderland.
I went running on the track at the high school yesterday. I had been looking forward to a day I could do this for awhile. I was kind of disappointed, but it wasn't in the track or the running itself...it was me. First of all, I forgot a rubber-band for my hair so it was flying all over the place. Second of all, I hate my Ipod headphones. They don't stay in my ears. At home I use my huge ones I use for work, but I thought it would look silly out there on the track. I was 1.5 laps down before I even got them untangled and in my ears. Anyway.......lessons learned for next time.
