Drama Queen Moment #4,752

Reactions:
Joel and I and the kids went to Wal Mart the other day and decided to stop by the RedBox for a video for the night.

As we're browsing the videos Maddie for some reason that escapes me makes a face at her father. All he said to her was "Don't make faces at me or we'll go sit in the car", which is shockingly easygoing for having just had a 6yo make a face at him. She instantly started bawling, which she continued through the the whole movie browsing experience. Having a hard time concentrating on what the videos were through the sound of hysterics I said "forget it, let's go."

Across the parking lot she continued to cry.

"you all hate me."

"nobody loves me in my family except Dylan."

"Dylan is the only one who I will ever speak to again."

"I'm never speaking to you two ever again."

"Nobody loves me."

As we're continuing across the parking lot I pointed out to her that not only was she still talking, she was also holding my hand and if Dylan is the only one she likes that maybe she should hold his hand.

She said "Dylan isn't a grown up and I have to hold a grown up's hand in a parking lot."

At least even when she's hysterical and hating me and her father, she still follows the rules.

For the record, she has since started speaking to both Joel and I, so all must be right in the world again.
