Evens

Reactions:
Because being a parent isn't hard enough, Maddie had to step up her game a little. Apparently, they're learning "even and odd" numbers at school. Maddie has decided that "even numbers" are her favorite. Super. That means all her food must be in even numbers. Everything is in even numbers. everything.

Example:

FOOD: She had some Ritz Cheese crackers. They come in a package of six. That's an even number, right? Well, as we all know Maddie has a little bit of her mom in her which makes her both clumsy and messy and she dropped one on the floor.....which makes FIVE crackers. Me, personally...wanted to blow it off and give it back and complete the even-ness of her life. That was not acceptable. Another option was to take away one cracker. How well do you think that went over???? Not so much.

GAMES: We played Yahtzee last night. Imagine how difficult it is to play with someone who only wants to keep the even numbers. *sigh*

BOOKS: One book at night is not acceptable. It's an odd number. She wanted TWO. I kindly reminded her that ZERO is also an even number.

Mom won that round.

That's too funny. Kids can be weird when it comes to numbers. The other day Jonah informed me that his lucky number is two-hundred thousand. He tends to think big.
