Mucky Monday Mood

I was so freaking excited for today. FINALLY these kids are going back to school. Then last night I realized.....I have to get up early. WTH???? I have been used to sleeping until at least 8:00, sometimes 8:30 and sometimes later (shh). 6:45 came shockingly early today.

Dylan was surprisingly easy to get up and did not even complain that he had to ride the bus rather than be driven. He was making up for the fact that in 30 minutes I would have to wake up his sister and literally drag her out of bed, down the stairs and force clothes on her and food down her throat.

Today I have my long-awaited eye appointment. Finally I can get my contacts back. I am going to need new glasses too because not until I had to wear them day in and day out that I realized that I cannot see that well with them. I have to squint to see the TV. Super. Of course, today I will order them but I will not actually get them for a few days. I am a little bittersweet about the contacts. I really want them back, I do - but I have gotten really lazy about enjoying wearing glasses. It is kind of nice to not have to put them in and take them out.

Maddie starts back up in ballet today. This is where the chaos comes into play. Since my work so graciously refused my request to switch my hours to accommodate ballet, I have to stop work and go pick her up from school (the bus drops her off at home at the exact time ballet starts). The pickup system at her school is atrocious. It takes forever to get in and forever to get out. I have a 30 minute window in which I can be away from my computer before it shuts down and red flags the system. 30 minutes is barely enough to time, which is sad considering we live 2 minutes from school.

Anyway, I am done whining for the day. Now I have to get the tiniest of whiners ready for school. Yay me!
