Rollin' with the homies

Reactions:
Happy new year!!

We rung in the new year with The Snelsons, the coolest family in town. I made a prime rib and Dan made mashed potatoes and broccoli to go with it. I was really nervous about the prime rib, but it turned out really good. Even the kids liked it even though they complained about eating it. We played Apples to Apples with Dennis and Dylan and Dan whooped our butts THREE TIMES. I'm still bitter about this. We played a lot of Mario Kart and darts and shuffleboard and of course had a lot of laughs and good times. At midnight we toasted and the kids made a lot of noise outside and had a blast. I haven't seen these kids have this much fun in a really long time. They made us promise to do it next year. Hopefully we will have forgotten what New Years Day feels like by then.

Shockingly, Dylan and Dennis were the first ones asleep at like 1:30, I think? It was after 2:30 before the girls were finally down and Joel and I slept on the living room floor on an air mattress. After a few short hours of sleep we moseyed our way home. It hasn't been the most productive day, I won't lie. People of our age are not meant to stay up until 2:30 in the morning drinking and then get up at 8:00 and be functional.

Here's some pictures Rachel took, because I forgot my camera, of course. I'm lucky I remembered the prime rib.

The men discussing football, because that is who they are.

Loved the pictures. It's so cool that y'all both have kids around the same ages that are friends too. Glad you remembered the prime rib. And thanks Rachel for making such good pictures.
